Holy cow does time really fly! I can't believe that it was 1 year ago yesterday that my life changed forever and Elliot came into my life. It seems like it was only yesterday that I was anxiously waiting for him to be born and than I was told that I would have to deliver 2 weeks early. Yay! But I was so scared. The labor was fairly easy and quick. Yay! And I was overjoyed to finally meet my little boy. Now, a year later, he brings me so much joy. I love watching him play and learn. He has the best laugh ever! And he is always so happy, even when he is sick. I feel so blessed to have such a sweet little boy. He is so precious. At times I feel so inadequate to be his mom. What did I do to deserve such an amazing child? I really believe there is something special in his future.
For his first birthday we had 2 parties. One for my family on Sunday. And than one with Nate and his family on Monday, Elliot's birthday. He got a lot of fun and cute stuff. Thanks to all who made it and helped make it special for Elliot and me. Elliot LOVES dogs. So I made him a little doggie cake.
And for everybody else I made doggie cupcakes.
They turned out so cute. But they took a long time to decorate. Thanks Janessa for helping me by frosting all 48 cupcakes while I sculpted! I also made Elliot a Patchwork Puppy for his birthday. I took a class at my mom's store My Sister's Quilts. He LOVES it! It was pretty easy and a lot of fun to make him something.
I was a little worried how he would be with eating his cake. My nephew was pretty picky with his and wasn't sure what he was supposed to do, he just kind of picked at it and wouldn't really "get into it". I really wanted to have those pics with cake all over. I had nothing to worry about. My son knows the right way to eat 1st birthday cake!
On Monday, his birthday, we went and did a photo shoot. I had them done at FotoFly in Draper, Utah. The photographers were awesome and we got some great pics! It was a lot of fun. Here are a couple of my favorites.
Okay, so more than just a couple. I have a hard time deciding on my favorite. Anyway, it was a fun day, except for the doctors appointment. Elliot had to get his shots. That was not fun. I cried right along with him. He cried so hard he started to turn blue from not breathing. I had to blow in his face to get him to remember to breath. I wish I could get the shots for him. But I can't. I hate those doctor visits. His stats are below.
Weight: 18 lbs 3 oz. 5%
Height: 29 1/2 in. 15%
Head circumference: I can't remember right now. But he is in the 25%.
He is walking every where, which also means a lot of bumps and bruises. But it is so much fun. I love watching him grow. I just love this little guy!
