I can't believe how much my little boy is learning and growing! He is still at the bottom of the charts for his weight, height, etc. But mentally he is growing and learning so much. It really amazes me how much he really understands! The thing that really hit me and amazes me so much is how he associates things. My family have this little "game" with my nephew Xander. One of us will say "I love you". Xander will respond with "I love you more". Then we will say " I love you more and mostest" he will answer back with " I love you more and mostest and more" That phrase is usually the winner. Anyway, we taught Elliot how to sign more. We intended it to be used mostly when eating and wanting more food, if he was still hungry. But we discovered that every time Elliot was around when we would be playing our "game" with Xander, Elliot would say and sign "more" when it was said. We thought it really cute, but thought he was just doing it because he heard the word. Boy, we were wrong on how he understands things! I figured this out one night when I was rocking him before bed. I said "I love you". He looked up at me and signed "more", gave me a kiss and laid back down on my shoulder! He associates the sign for "more" with not only wanting more food, but with telling someone he loves them! Melts my heart! His vocabulary is also growing. Even the ones I don't want him to know, like "no". He LOVES music and loves getting his groove on. He loves it when gramma or grampa plays the piano. He will run into the living room, when he hears the piano playing and he will either dance, watch in awe, or try to play a duet with them. He is well behaved most the time, and minds very well. He is climbing all over everything. His favorite thing to climb on is the kitchen chairs and just recently has been trying to climb up onto the table from the chairs. I just have to tell him to sit down and he will sit. Of course he will only stay 2 min tops before he is either climbing down or trying to climb on the table again, but I usually only have to tell him once or twice to sit down and he does. Oh he has his moments where he doesn't want to obey and he gets in trouble and has to stand in the corner. But it still amazes me how much he does understand and how well he does behave. I feel so lucky to have him in my life! He is one ball of fire though. He is CONSTANTLY moving and jabbering from the moment he wakes up. He never just crashes, unless you actually hold him still for a while, or put him in his car seat or in his crib, then, if he is tired, he will fall asleep. But he never wants to slow down. It is exhausting, but so fun to watch him so curious about everything and wanting to just go go go! In the words of my nephew Xander and my bro Nick, I love my Lelliot!
